Instructions
Brown ground beef and onions in a large skillet.
Season meat to taste with salt, pepper, and a little chili powder. Drain the fat
Add tomato sauce and simmer for roughly five minutes.
While the meat mixture is simmering, prepare cornbread mixture according to the package.
After five minutes of simmering, add corn to the meat mixture and simmer until hot.
Grease a 9X13 casserole dish and place meat mixture in the dish.
Spread the cornbread mixture on top of the meat mixture.
Bake in the oven according to the directions on the cornbread mixture, or until toothpick comes out clean when stuck in cornbread.
Notes
You can change the flavors of this based on your preferences. We have added green chilies, or jalapenos to add spice. My husband also enjoys adding garlic to the meat for more flavor.
